In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Casalinhos FC's goalkeeper Xavier Vale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Basílio Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calicas's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xavier Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simão Faria hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusébio Coelho got free with Armando Fernandes in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Miguel Mendes took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Armando Fernandes to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Vicente Maia charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Gil Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusébio Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Armando Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Mendes struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Armando Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Casalinhos FC. Calicas's Armando Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Coelho in the 91st minute of play. Xavier Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Leite in the 96th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Casalinhos FC's zone, Basílio Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xavier Vale came out of the goal and Basílio Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Casalinhos FC could leave the field as winners, despite Calicas having more of the ball for most of the match.
