In the 6th minute, Bento Carneiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gabriel Luz, passed just outside the right post. Covancas's Paulo Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabriel Luz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. André Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bento Carneiro was the one to do the kick off. Covancas's Pedro Valente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Covancas from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Rodrigues got free with Pedro Valente in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bustelos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
