In the 10th minute, Jorge Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Meceares's Alexandre Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nuno Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Rocha in the 31st minute of play. Sebastião Gomes scored 0-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nuno Freitas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute, Jorge Vale made a precise shot to the right of Luís Vale. Meceares's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 99th minute, Amadeu Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Assunção in the 100th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Meceares walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
