Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Afonso Lima took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute of the match João Viana sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vasco Gonçalves skillfully saved the ball. Miguel Tavares hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, João Setúbal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrabal's supporters rose to their feet, but João Setúbal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasco Gonçalves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mário Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Joaquim Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Joaquim Machado fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arrabal's protests and gave Joaquim Machado a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Arrabal got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Machado. Arrabal's João Viana shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 25th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vasco Gonçalves but with some difficulty. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Mário Gaspar sped through Arrabal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquim Rodrigues. In the 30th minute Afonso Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Lima in the 32nd minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Afonso Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alfrivida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Mário Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arrabal's Joaquim Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristóvão Antunes made a kick off. With a little luck, Arrabal's Joaquim Rodrigues got control of the ball when Mário Gaspar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Catarino Setúbal charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Catarino Setúbal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th minute, Catarino Setúbal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mário Gaspar's late challenge caught a Arrabal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mário Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. Joaquim Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Vasco Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristóvão Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Gonçalves having to interfere. Vasco Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Setúbal in the 67th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Arrabal's zone, Mário Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Rodrigues came out of the goal and Mário Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miguel Tavares hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Mário Gaspar was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Alfrivida's Mário Gaspar got a free kick in the 83rd minute. At last the ball reached Cristóvão Antunes at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Alfrivida. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Luís Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alfrivida's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Alfrivida players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
