Cláudio Barros who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Armando Paiva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pedro Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a little luck, SC Calvino's Armando Paiva got control of the ball when Cláudio Barros tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vítor Cabral during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
