Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Caria's Heitor Esteves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Heitor Esteves hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute of the match, José Nogueira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Carlos Barbosa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Joaquim Baptista hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute André Moutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Baptista in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Gabriel Gueifão had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The supporters of SC Canicos booed when Caria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Canicos's Carlos Nogueira tried to score from far away in the 15th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alexandre Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Barbosa having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, José Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Canicos's supporters rose to their feet, but José Nogueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisco Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Barbosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Baptista ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute, José Nogueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Francisco Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the SC Canicos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Baptista couldn't finish the play. José Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Barbosa having to interfere. With a little luck, Caria's Carlos Barbosa got control of the ball when José Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

SC Canicos were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Caria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Carlos Nogueira took the corner. Carlos Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Assunção in the 56th minute of the match. Carlos Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. If Óscar Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 69 minutes, Jacinto Amorim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caria and the SC Canicos players grew even worse after the yellow card. 69 minutes into the game, one of Caria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a little luck, SC Canicos's Cláudio Vaz got control of the ball when Óscar Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Barros during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes SC Canicos got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Barros. 82 minutes into the match, SC Canicos's goal looked a bit too open when Heitor Esteves came free, but Cláudio Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Vaz made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Óscar Cardoso sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to SC Canicos getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Eusébio Nogueira hit a great ball. Óscar Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Canicos's Cláudio Vaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to save SC Canicos from getting a goal against them.
