Paulo Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Óscar Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Inácio Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Correia having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Paulo Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Leira's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Óscar Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Ximeno FC booed when SC Leira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joel Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Rocha in the 17th minute of the match. After 19 minutes, Gaspar Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Leira and the Ximeno FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 19 minutes into the game, one of SC Leira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Ximeno FC a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pedro Soares, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Leira's Joel Correia. 0-1. Hugo Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Óscar Maia was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Afonso Machado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Afonso Machado really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Hugo Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ximeno FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hugo Queirós to make the kick off. If Inácio Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, Inácio Mota left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ximeno FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. In the 58th minute Hugo Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Afonso Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Óscar Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Leira's Joel Correia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save SC Leira from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Queirós in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Óscar Maia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ximeno FC's Inácio Mota got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hugo Rocha hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 98th minute, Hugo Queirós made a precise shot to the right of Óscar Maia. Ximeno FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3.
