Amadeu Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mário Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Canas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Abel Martins fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mário Pires scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manuel Dantas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sérgio Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Amadeu Maia took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Sérgio Garcia to make any attempt to save it. SC Pucarica's Manuel Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Pires in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amadeu Maia made a kick off. After 62 minutes, Amadeu Maia made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Canas's Sérgio Garcia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Abel Martins came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the SC Pucarica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Martins couldn't finish the play. Amadeu Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Sérgio Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Gueifão's late challenge caught a SC Pucarica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Gueifão helped the player get up and apologised. Joaquim Gueifão hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Canas's Sandro Leiria got a free kick in the 71st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Abel Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Pucarica's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristóvão Viegas hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. If Mário Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrique Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Dantas having to interfere. SC Pucarica's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
