In the 45th minute Henrique Matias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alfredo Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Domingos Miranda to strike the kick off in the second half. Guedelhas FC's Alfredo Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute of the match João Matias shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquim Simões showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Domingos Miranda took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Joaquim Simões to make any attempt to save it. Amílcar Veiga hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Joaquim Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingos Miranda in the 75th minute of the match.
