The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristóvão Macedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cristóvão Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salgadinho FC's goalkeeper Cristóvão Macedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to SC Mareco getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Inácio Vaz hit a great ball. Viriato Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Viana in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Salgadinho FC's Albertino Viana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viriato Nogueira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manuel Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Cristóvão Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Salgadinho FC's goalkeeper Cristóvão Macedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 33 minutes, Albertino Viana made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. SC Mareco's Viriato Nogueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute Américo Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viriato Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Mareco's zone, Albertino Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viriato Nogueira came out of the goal and Albertino Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute Albertino Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viriato Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Salgadinho FC booed when SC Mareco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viriato Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Viana in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Salgadinho FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Melo to strike the kick off in the second half. Lourenço Pinho's late challenge caught a Salgadinho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lourenço Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. Lourenço Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Américo Domingues got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 55th minute, Américo Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Castro during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Salgadinho FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Paulo Castro hit a great ball. Inácio Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Cristóvão Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Viriato Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Manuel Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee gave Lourenço Pinho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Afonso Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salgadinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Nogueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The SC Mareco supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Salgadinho FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Salgadinho FC.
