Joel Jesus's late challenge caught a Reboredo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Jesus helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Areao FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Joel Jesus hit a great ball. Reboredo FC's António Dantas got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amadeu Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. António Dantas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Viana having to make a save. Reboredo FC's Nuno Guarda got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If António Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armando Amaral was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 52 minutes into the match. In the 52nd minute, one of Reboredo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Reboredo FC. When Areao FC's Manuel Abreu in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Areao FC had won after a very even match.
