An unexpected shot in the 6th minute by Manuel Leiria got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Leiria got free with Gustavo Cunha in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diamantino Vale hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardo Magalhães in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustavo Cunha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacinto Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. If Vicente Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Emílio Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Magalhães might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustavo Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Magalhães ran back to his position shaking his head. Gustavo Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Magalhães in the 33rd minute of the match. Gonçalo Leal hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Aires FC's Emílio Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute Ricardo Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes Murgeira FC got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Leiria. The Murgeira FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Aires FC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Magalhães made a kick off. If Ricardo Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute Ricardo Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustavo Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Magalhães scored 1-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustavo Cunha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Murgeira FC's Manuel Leiria pulled a muscle in his leg after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Emílio Lima who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of José Santarém when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Aires FC's Vicente Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute Vicente Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Santarém saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Vicente Carneiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Santarém. The goal made the score 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacinto Barros during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 97 played minutes Murgeira FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Barros. 100 minutes had been played when some careless play by Murgeira FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Mota was slow to take the kick. During this time Aires FC's players had a chance to rest. Aires FC's Joel Mota was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but José Santarém in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Aires FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
