When António Gaspar came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Corgos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Gaspar couldn't finish the play. Corgos FC's Sebastião Campos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Amaro in the 33rd minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and António Gaspar made a kick off. Eusébio Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in SC Pombeira's zone, António Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Melo came out of the goal and António Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Melo having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Pedro Almeida fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Daniel Trindade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Campos having to interfere. The SC Pombeira supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Pombeira would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
