An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Soares in the 6th minute of play forced Hortas FC's goalkeeper Sandro Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Pinto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rui Sousa. SC Viatodos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. João Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th minute Afonso Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Paiva in the 18th minute of the match. Nuno Aguiar hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Hortas FC's João Paredes in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Gomes couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Hortas FC's Vicente Lisboa got a free kick in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the game, Hortas FC's João Paredes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rui Sousa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Afonso Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Hortas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Paiva couldn't finish the play. Rui Soares might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sandro Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rui Soares ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomás Nogueira's late challenge caught a SC Viatodos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th minute, Tomás Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rui Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 75th minute SC Viatodos were awarded a corner. Jacinto Mota went to the cornerflag to take it. Jacinto Mota made a great header on SC Viatodos's corner, it was just that Hortas FC's Sandro Cunha managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 80 minutes, Rui Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Viatodos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Afonso Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hortas FC's Sandro Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Gomes in the 94th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Hortas FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
