Carlos Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Faro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Cristiano Faro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Azevedo in the 30th minute of the match. Cristiano Faro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd match minute, Coucieiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Pedroso to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Lima got free with Cristiano Faro in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júlio Azevedo in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristiano Faro saved Coucieiro from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Coucieiro's Tomás Neves got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, Matosos's Luís Oliveira got control of the ball when Fernando Lisboa tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Alexandre Lima came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Matosos fans jumped to their feet. After a defensive mix-up in Coucieiro's zone, Alexandre Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Faro came out of the goal and Alexandre Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristiano Faro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Azevedo in the 79th minute of play. Alexandre Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Daniel Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Faro having to interfere. When João Valente fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coucieiro's protests and gave João Valente a yellow card for diving instead. João Valente hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Matosos had played much better football throughout.
