After a rather tough play, SC Cidral's Cristiano Dantas got a free kick in the 4th minute. If Eusébio Valente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 8 minutes into the match, SC Bela's Eusébio Valente sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Viana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Rogério Freitas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Faria. SC Bela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogério Freitas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. A collision led to SC Bela getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Nuno Pinto hit a great ball. When Gonçalo Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SC Cidral fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonçalo Freitas couldn't finish the play. After 20 played minutes, SC Cidral's Nuno Melo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Francisco Faria came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Cidral reached it. Rogério Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonçalo Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Viana having to interfere. In the 32nd minute Gonçalo Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusébio Valente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusébio Valente's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Viana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Gonçalo Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Francisco Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 41 minutes, Gonçalo Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Cidral's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the game, António Ferro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Miguel Viana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gonçalo Cruz to strike the kick off in the second half. Miguel Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Rogério Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Francisco Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Rogério Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cidral's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Faria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes into the match, SC Cidral's goalkeeper Miguel Viana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Valente. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Freitas in the 71st minute of play forced SC Bela's goalkeeper Francisco Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Faria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gonçalo Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eusébio Valente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gonçalo Freitas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisco Faria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play.
