Mário Oliveira hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. If Júlio Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute, Júlio Baptista fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fábio Rodrigues, passed just outside the right post. Armando Bessa hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Mário Oliveira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Refugio's Pedro Porto didn't even have to move. When Manuel Maia came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Suzao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Maia couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute, Pedro Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, SC Suzao's Manuel Maia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 29 played minutes SC Suzao got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Anjos. Fábio Rodrigues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nuno Monteiro in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the match, SC Suzao's goalkeeper Fábio Rodrigues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Monteiro. After having played for 35 minutes, Júlio Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Refugio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fábio Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Fábio Rodrigues successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 41st minute, Manuel Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 43 minutes, Júlio Baptista made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. SC Suzao's Fábio Rodrigues tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Maia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fábio Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Maia in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Porto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Suzao's goalkeeper Fábio Rodrigues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SC Suzao's Gabriel Amaral got a free kick in the 68th minute. Júlio Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Rodrigues having to interfere. Pedro Porto was a little too slow when Manuel Maia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-1. Nuno Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Fábio Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Suzao's attack was well implemented in the 95th minute, but when Viriato Anjos was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
