Cristóvão Pinheiros short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Alberto Marques to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Corveiros booed when Azeitada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Joel Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Santos in the 12th minute of play. Luís Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Santos in the 14th minute of the match. António Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Corveiros booed when Azeitada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Faro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Carlos Machado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Lima skillfully saved the ball. Corveiros's Mariano Porto got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Lima came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Corveiros's Mariano Porto. But to his dismay, Mariano Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With an all-out effort, Azeitada's Alberto Marques threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Esteves, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Corveiros's Hélder Moreira got a free kick in the 40th minute. António Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Esteves was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Corveiros's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Esteves came free, but Alberto Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Esteves in the 56th minute of the match. A collision led to Azeitada getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Raul Pacheco hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Esteves in the 62nd minute of play forced Corveiros's goalkeeper Alberto Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Esteves in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alberto Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 67 played minutes Corveiros got a freekick which was hit by Raul Aleixo. 69 minutes into the game, Carlos Machado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corveiros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Azeitada the free kick. In the 69th match minute, Corveiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Machado to maneuver through the defense. When Cristóvão Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Azeitada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. Joel Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Corveiros walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
