David Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armindo Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Manuel Moniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, Padros FC's Oliveira Santarém nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Viana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Moucheira fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! In the 20th minute there was a penalty for Padros FC. Sérgio Melo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving David Viana. 0-2. After having played for 24 minutes, Miguel Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25thth minute of the game Oliveira Santarém who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moucheira's David Viana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Miguel Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Miguel Carvalho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Viana. Moucheira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Carvalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The supporters of Moucheira booed when Padros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 1-3 became the score in the 36th minute when Manuel Brás elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ricardo Moreira's late challenge caught a Padros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd minute, Ricardo Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moucheira's David Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Carvalho in the 45th minute of play. Manuel Brás succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-3 in the 48th playminute. After the first half Padros FC were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 57th minute Miguel Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Brás hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. David Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Carvalho in the 67th minute of play. Manuel Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Brás in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to Moucheira getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Óscar Almeida hit a great ball. When Manuel Brás came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Moucheira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Brás couldn't finish the play. If Manuel Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Padros FC's António Valente got a free kick in the 98th minute. The Padros FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Padros FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
