The supporters of Fojos booed when Nelas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee ignored Fojos's protests and gave Bernardo Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Fojos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. When Rogério Vale came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Nelas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério Vale couldn't finish the play. Ricardo Neto hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Vale in the 27th minute of play forced Fojos's goalkeeper Cristiano Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião Queirós's late challenge caught a Nelas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastião Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. Sebastião Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Ricardo Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Manuel Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Paulo Pinheiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fojos's Cristiano Pereira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rogério Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Pereira having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Vale in the 58th minute of play forced Fojos's goalkeeper Cristiano Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Vale in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Paulo Pinheiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristiano Pereira. Fojos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Pinheiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Cristiano Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. If Rogério Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Nelas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 87 played minutes Fojos got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Nascimento. 91 minutes into the match, Nelas FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Borges had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cláudio Miranda. Fojos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
