Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Henrique Alves kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Moutinho during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ricardo Moutinho hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Tiago Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 16th minute Inácio Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sentinela's Armando Campos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Sentinela from getting a goal against them. Diamantino Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Fábio Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Areao's supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Campos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sentinela's António Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henrique Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiago Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Fábio Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Armando Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Sentinela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuno Henriques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Armando Campos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Moutinho in the 54th minute of play. Fábio Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Armando Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Jaime Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Areao's goalkeeper Tiago Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Inácio Vale. The supporters of Sentinela booed when Areao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Moutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nuno Henriques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Inácio Vale in the 85th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Inácio Vale had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tiago Leão. Areao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Inácio Vale was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 98th minute, Sentinela's Gil Amaro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gil Amaro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sentinela protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gil Amaro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 98th minute, one of Sentinela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sentinela. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sentinela eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
