Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Pedro Amorim made the kick off which started today's match. Fábio Moreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fábio Moreira ran back to his position shaking his head. When Nuno Henriques came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Areao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Henriques couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute Pedro Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiago Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armindo Ribeiro in the 13th minute. Nuno Henriques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. João Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gafaria's João Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Henriques in the 30th minute of play. Areao's Fábio Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Gafaria's José Neto got a free kick in the 37th minute. When Armindo Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Gafaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armindo Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. Pedro Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Leão having to interfere.
The wind increased when Nuno Henriques made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Cândido Amaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Areao and the Gafaria players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fábio Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. If Armindo Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 80th minute, Jaime Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armindo Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Tiago Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gafaria. João Viana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fábio Moreira in the 89th minute. Areao's Tiago Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Ribeiro in the 92nd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Areao walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
