Filipe Santarém kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Duarte Aleixo might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Gueifão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Duarte Aleixo ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Moura got free with Afonso Ferro in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Afonso Ferro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Rodrigues in the 16th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Araujo defense, Filipe Gonçalves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Gueifão. The Araujo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Gueifão should have stopped the shot. Manuel Rodrigues was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 26th minute. Araujo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 27th match minute, Escariz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Antunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th match minute, Araujo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the game, one of Araujo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Escariz a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Augusto Teixeira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Araujo's Paulo Gueifão. 0-2. 47 minutes into the match, Gustavo Moura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonso Ferro. Escariz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Moura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filipe Gonçalves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Escariz's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Moura came free, but Afonso Ferro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Moura struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Afonso Ferro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araujo. Duarte Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Paulo Gueifão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Filipe Gonçalves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Gueifão was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Duarte Aleixo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Paulo Gueifão made a huge save. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Escariz's goalkeeper Afonso Ferro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A well-hit corner resulted in Duarte Bessa heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a rather tough play, Araujo's Filipe Resende got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 92nd minute Filipe Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes, Lucas Antunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Escariz and the Araujo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Escariz getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Lucas Antunes hit a great ball. Gustavo Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Afonso Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Escariz players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
