Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nuno Matos started the match with the kick off. A hard shot 3 in the game by Carlos Andrade from a close distance when the talented Lúcio Ramos managed to make a qualified save. SC Assares's players were relieved. Ricardo Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 8thth minute of the game Augusto Paredes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Assares's Lúcio Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paulo Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, André Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Augusto Paredes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 20 minutes into the match, SC Sabugal's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Tavares came free, but Paulo Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Ramos having to interfere. If Augusto Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Paredes in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 minutes of play, SC Assares's Nuno Matos made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Faro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 34 minutes into the match, SC Sabugal's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Matos came free, but Paulo Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Nuno Matos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Faro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Carlos Andrade struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Lúcio Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Sabugal. The SC Sabugal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Assares were winning 1-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Paredes to make the kick off. Paulo Faro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Paredes in the 57th minute of play forced SC Assares's goalkeeper Lúcio Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Diogo Tavares got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Diogo Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62ndth minute of the game Augusto Paredes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Assares's Lúcio Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. SC Assares's Lúcio Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Andrade in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Augusto Paredes notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of SC Assares's Lúcio Ramos. Lúcio Ramos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 78 minutes into the game, Nuno Matos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Paulo Faro. Nuno Matos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Ricardo Pires charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Pires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Assares's Ricardo Pires got a free kick in the 84th minute. Paulo Faro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Matos in the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Andrade in the 95th minute of play forced SC Assares's goalkeeper Lúcio Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Assares eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
