Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nuno Matos got the match started through his kick off. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gambelas FC! Gustavo Moutinho shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Vítor Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Lúcio Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gambelas FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Trindade during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Assares booed when Gambelas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Diogo Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diogo Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Costa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diogo Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. After 32 played minutes Gambelas FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Trindade. After 33 played minutes, SC Assares's Gustavo Moutinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Assares reached it. 35 minutes into the game, André Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Assares's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gambelas FC the free kick. In the 35th minute, André Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the match, Vítor Fonseca notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Assares's Lúcio Ramos. Lúcio Ramos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 44 minutes into the match, SC Assares's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Fonseca came free, but Lúcio Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Pires hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After 49 minutes of play, Gambelas FC's Vítor Fonseca made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lúcio Ramos was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Gambelas FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Rui Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Gambelas FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Rui Martins hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Matos in the 58th minute of play forced Gambelas FC's goalkeeper José Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Lúcio Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. José Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nuno Matos came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the SC Assares fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Matos couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute Xavier Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Assares's Lúcio Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save SC Assares from getting a goal against them. After 78 minutes of play SC Assares's André Vieira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. André Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. SC Assares's Lúcio Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Aguiar in the 80th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Vítor Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gambelas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricardo Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Vítor Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gambelas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 87 minutes, Nuno Matos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Assares and the Gambelas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gambelas FC booed when SC Assares was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Vítor Fonseca got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in SC Assares's zone, Vítor Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Ramos came out of the goal and Vítor Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The SC Assares supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gambelas FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Gambelas FC.
