Bernardo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Almeida in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vargem FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Óscar Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Assis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, one of Godinho:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Godinho. The referee gave Vargem FC a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gabriel Marques, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Godinho's Óscar Borges. 0-1. Gil Assis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
Vargem FC's João Resende got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gustavo Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Leão having to interfere. Óscar Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Resende, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Bernardo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Resende in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Gustavo Resende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, Gil Coimbra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, João Resende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Vargem FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Moniz to maneuver through the defense.
