João Resende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Júlio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lomar FC booed when Vargem FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Américo Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Ferreira having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Domingues in the 23rd minute of play forced Vargem FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeu Viana hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Gil Assis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Júlio Ferreira made a huge save. Gil Assis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Lomar FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Resende came free, but Júlio Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Armindo Domingues came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Lomar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armindo Domingues couldn't finish the play. Bernardo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Freitas in the 39th minute of play. Daniel Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Bernardo Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armindo Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Armindo Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Gaspar Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Daniel Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lomar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 55th minute Armindo Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Lomar FC booed when Vargem FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Daniel Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th match minute, Vargem FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Freitas struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Bernardo Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lomar FC. If Daniel Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Vargem FC defense, Abel Setúbal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Leão. The Vargem FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Leão should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Bernardo Leão successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match was over Lomar FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vargem FC throughout the match.
