The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lúcio Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Dias in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to SC Casaldima getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Rui Porto hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Tabuado's goalkeeper Rafael Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto Brito. If Humberto Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Casaldima's Lúcio Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Matias in the 36th minute of play. Humberto Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Pinheiro having to interfere. Humberto Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Tabuado booed when SC Casaldima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Casaldima's zone, Humberto Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Pinheiro came out of the goal and Humberto Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raul Matias got free with Lúcio Pinheiro in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humberto Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the game, Raul Matias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Lúcio Pinheiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
