The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandre Silva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Alexandre Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th match minute, Varelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Silva to maneuver through the defense. Emílio Trindade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasco Gomes in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Henrique Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Trindade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Varelas getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Abel Alves hit a great ball. Eduardo Gomes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vítor Alves firmly grabbed it by the left post. 27 minutes into the match, Varelas's Eduardo Gomes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vítor Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Silva got free with Vítor Alves in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emílio Trindade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Reis in the 48th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fábio Rodrigues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fábio Rodrigues in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Alves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Alcochete getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Adolfo Correia hit a great ball. Vasco Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Trindade having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Varelas's goalkeeper Emílio Trindade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrique Reis. Emílio Trindade made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrique Reis in the 74th minute. Fábio Rodrigues scored 2-1 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vítor Alves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 83 minutes of play Varelas's Alexandre Silva was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
