Jorge Ramos was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 20 minutes, Jorge Ramos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marcelim FC and the Calvelo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorge Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Hugo Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Faro in the 23rd minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Marcelim FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Torres to maneuver through the defense. Júlio Tavares's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by António Brito on his right side and into the goal. 32 minutes into the game it was 0-1. Hugo Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Faro in the 37th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Calvelo got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Carvalho. Alberto Carvalho hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Vieira in the 45th minute of play forced Marcelim FC's goalkeeper António Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute of the match Calvelo got a corner. Marcelim FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Júlio Tavares ran over to the corner to take the kick. Júlio Tavares made a great header on Calvelo's corner, it was just that Marcelim FC's António Brito managed to reach the ball for a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vítor Vieira was the one to do the kick off. Alfredo Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Mendes in the 55th minute of play forced Calvelo's goalkeeper Hugo Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Calvelo booed when Marcelim FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Mendes in the 62nd minute of the match. António Brito came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Calvelo's Eduardo Marques. But to his dismay, Eduardo Marques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Alfredo Mendes struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Hugo Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marcelim FC. In the 78th minute Alfredo Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Calvelo getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Eduardo Marques hit a great ball. Júlio Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Hugo Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Mendes in the 85th minute of the match. When Américo Faro came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Marcelim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Faro couldn't finish the play. The Calvelo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Calvelo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
