Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Santar's Fábio Barros started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Jaime Lima managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Santar's António Miranda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jaime Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fábio Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Fábio Barros was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 11th minute. Santar's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 14 minutes into the game, Ouricosa FC's Tomás Ribeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abel Faria made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ouricosa FC's zone, Fábio Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Lima came out of the goal and Fábio Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If António Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Nunes in the 25th minute of play. 34 minutes into the game, Bruno Nunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ouricosa FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santar the free kick. In the 34th match minute, Ouricosa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Nunes to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute, Bruno Nunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abel Faria was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Bruno Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Faria having to interfere. Abel Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Mota in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomás Ribeiro to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Santar's Júlio Dantas got a free kick in the 61st minute. Jaime Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Barros in the 67th minute of play. If António Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fábio Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Ribeiro in the 82nd minute of the match. Fábio Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
