In the 4th minute Filipe Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xavier Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xavier Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in SC Crestume's zone, Bruno Freitas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Simões came out of the goal and Bruno Freitas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nuno Cardoso hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 29 minutes, Afonso Porto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Vareiros and the SC Crestume players grew even worse after the yellow card. 37 minutes into the match, SC Crestume's goalkeeper Vítor Simões had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Heitor Esteves. Humberto Pacheco's late challenge caught a SC Vareiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Pacheco helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes SC Crestume got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Pacheco. When SC Vareiros's Afonso Porto in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Crestume's goalie prevented a goal.

The wind increased when Afonso Porto made the kick off in the second half. Duarte Ferro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Xavier Mendes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. SC Crestume's Vítor Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heitor Esteves in the 57th minute of play. Vítor Simões stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Heitor Esteves's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. In the 74th match minute, SC Vareiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Freitas to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute, Heitor Esteves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Vareiros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Heitor Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Vareiros booed when SC Crestume was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filipe Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Xavier Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filipe Correia in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Xavier Mendes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
