Xavier Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Vaz in the 15th minute of the match. Amílcar Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes in the game, Heitor Esteves dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Álvaro Machado hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Afonso Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Vieira having to interfere. Mattas FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Afonso Porto 28 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Xavier Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xavier Silva to make the kick off. Xavier Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Silva in the 52nd minute of play. Artur Luz hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. SC Vareiros's Xavier Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save SC Vareiros from getting a goal against them. Mattas FC's Mariano Brás shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 82nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Xavier Mendes but with some difficulty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viriato Lisboa during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Vareiros's Viriato Lisboa got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Vareiros's goalkeeper Xavier Mendes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 86 minutes of play SC Vareiros's Viriato Lisboa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 87th minute, Viriato Lisboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vicente Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xavier Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Vareiros had won after a very even match.
