After having played for 3 minutes, Emílio Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casares's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfarazes FC's Tiago Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Azevedo in the 11th minute of play. Carlos Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Pinheiro having to interfere. With his leg Tiago Pinheiro managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Casares's Carlos Amaro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Emílio Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Pinheiro having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Carlos Amaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Casares's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Amaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Alfarazes FC's Carlos Aguiar got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 33rd minute, Emílio Azevedo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 37 minutes into the match, Alfarazes FC's goalkeeper Tiago Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emílio Azevedo. Bernardo Guarda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Cruz in the 39th minute of the match. Tiago Pinheiro made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Carlos Amaro sent off a good shot on target. If Fernando Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the game, one of Casares:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Basílio Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the game, Fernando Cruz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bernardo Guarda. Fernando Cruz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 64th match minute, Alfarazes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Coelho to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Casares's zone, Jorge Faro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Guarda came out of the goal and Jorge Faro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Carlos Amaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiago Pinheiro was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Alfarazes FC's Lúcio Soares shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bernardo Guarda but with some difficulty. Fernando Cruz struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Bernardo Guarda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alfarazes FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Amaro in the 81st minute of play forced Alfarazes FC's goalkeeper Tiago Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alfarazes FC's goalkeeper Tiago Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bernardo Guarda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Cruz in the 87th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emílio Azevedo in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiago Pinheiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfarazes FC's Jorge Faro got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Alfarazes FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alfarazes FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
