Alfarazes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coimbroes FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Alfarazes FC's Basílio Coelho got a free kick in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Humberto Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coimbroes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Viegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coimbroes FC's goalkeeper Cristiano Moutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 28 minutes of play Alfarazes FC's Basílio Coelho was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Basílio Coelho hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Humberto Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Tiago Pinheiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Faro was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Coimbroes FC defense, Pedro Amaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristiano Moutinho. The Coimbroes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristiano Moutinho should have stopped the shot. In the 57th minute, Marco Setúbal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfarazes FC's Tiago Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Viegas in the 60th minute of play. Humberto Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Alfarazes FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
