Raul Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Merujais FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Augusto Jesus hit a great ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Seide FC's goalkeeper Nuno Andrade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 29 minutes, Gustavo Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Seide FC and the Merujais FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Inácio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Neto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raul Faro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Inácio Veiga struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Nuno Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merujais FC. With a little luck, Merujais FC's Raul Faro got control of the ball when José Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nuno Neto made a kick off. Seide FC's Gustavo Soares pulled a muscle in his back after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Alfredo Trindade's late challenge caught a Seide FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Trindade helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Seide FC booed when Merujais FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. If José Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuno Neto in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuno Andrade saved Seide FC from getting behind. During the 71st minute of the match Alfredo Trindade completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alfredo Trindade a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 72nd match minute, Merujais FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Trindade to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Trindade charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Trindade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joaquim Trindade hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, José Torres made a precise shot to the right of Raul Faro. Merujais FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Merujais FC's Nuno Neto got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Raul Faro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
