If Ricardo Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, Hugo Cabral fired a really elegant long shot, but Luís Anjos threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Jorge Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute André Assis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Anjos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Amaro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luís Anjos. Varejeira's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Delgado got free with Luís Anjos in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Assis in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Anjos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ricardo Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Delgado charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Delgado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Varejeira booed when Troporiz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Delgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Assis was the one to do the kick off. Luís Anjos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Delgado in the 60th minute of the match. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Varejeira! The referee gave Troporiz FC a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lourenço Andrade, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Varejeira's Luís Anjos. 2-0. 72 minutes into the match, Troporiz FC's goalkeeper Jorge Fontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Leal. Luís Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Fontes having to interfere. If Ricardo Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Anjos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Assis in the 94th minute of play. In the 98th minute André Assis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Anjos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Troporiz FC were the better team. Troporiz FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
