With his leg Humberto Teixeira managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when SC Andao's Nuno Paredes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. SC Andao's Diamantino Moniz suffered a sore thigh after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Afonso Resende's late challenge caught a SC Andao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Resende helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, SC Valonguinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Resende to maneuver through the defense. SC Andao's Pedro Pedroso got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If José Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SC Andao's Nuno Mota got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, José Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Valonguinho's supporters rose to their feet, but José Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Santarém breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 31 minutes into the match, SC Valonguinho's Bernardo Macedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Santarém narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 40 minutes, José Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Valonguinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Machado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Santarém showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Macedo in the 43rd minute of the match. José Santarém took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After 52 played minutes SC Valonguinho got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Bessa. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Andao's goalkeeper José Santarém, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Nuno Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Andao's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If José Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Resende got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. If Pedro Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernardo Macedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but José Santarém made a huge save.
