Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) José Machado started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Bairro's Alberto Castro in the 9th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Humberto Teixeira was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for SC Valonguinho through an amazing save. In the 13th minute, Bernardo Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Bessa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Vítor Delgado scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Humberto Teixeira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 20 played minutes SC Valonguinho got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Macedo. In the 25thth minute of the game Alberto Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Valonguinho's Humberto Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Humberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Castro in the 27th minute of play. Alberto Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Teixeira having to interfere. Paulo Bessa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Machado in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Machado in the 39th minute of play forced Bairro's goalkeeper Paulo Bessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Valonguinho's Humberto Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Delgado in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half SC Valonguinho were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Castro to make the kick off. SC Valonguinho's Heitor Matias was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Paulo Bessa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If José Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Paulo Bessa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the game, Bernardo Macedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Paulo Bessa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th minute of the match Lúcio Magalhães sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Teixeira skillfully saved the ball. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Valonguinho's goalkeeper Humberto Teixeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 74 minutes, Heitor Matias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Valonguinho and the Bairro players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Heitor Matias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Castro in the 77th minute of play forced SC Valonguinho's goalkeeper Humberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Bernardo Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Valonguinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Bessa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardo Macedo struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Paulo Bessa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Valonguinho. In the 86th minute, José Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vítor Delgado in the 90th minute of play. Paulo Bessa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Afonso Resende in the 93rd minute. The SC Valonguinho supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Valonguinho would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
