With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute of the match, Pedro Guarda got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jorge Mendes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hugo Pacheco hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, SC Bananeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Teixeira came free, but Jorge Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Ramos hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Luís Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd match minute, SC Bananeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Amadeu Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heitor Amorim in the 28th minute of the match. João Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After 60 minutes, Domingos Moreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mandorelha FC and the SC Bananeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. SC Bananeiras's Heitor Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Pedro Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Alberto Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Alberto Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandorelha FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Alberto Teixeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Mendes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Pedro Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 minutes, Afonso Sá mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Bananeiras and the Mandorelha FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mandorelha FC booed when SC Bananeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
