In the 14th match minute, Trigais FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Campos to maneuver through the defense. Trigais FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Jacinto Valente scored to the left of an out of position André Viana, making the score, 2-0. 19 minutes into the game, Rogério Jesus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avenal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trigais FC the free kick. After 19 played minutes Avenal got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Jesus. With a little luck, Trigais FC's André Viana got control of the ball when Américo Ribeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Daniel Borba fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trigais FC's protests and gave Daniel Borba a yellow card for diving instead. 44 minutes into the match, Avenal's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Rodrigues came free, but Nuno Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Oliveira struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. André Viana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Avenal.
