The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bento Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. Rui Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Jesus having to interfere. When Fernando Branco came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the SC Barata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Branco couldn't finish the play. 1-0 became the score in the 18th minute when Joel Brás elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. SC Barata's Cristiano Jesus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Paiva in the 23rd minute of play. Heitor Assis hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Rui Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Cristiano Jesus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Barata's zone, Bernardo Anjos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Jesus came out of the goal and Bernardo Anjos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, SC Bombardeira's goalkeeper Amadeu Faria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Branco. Fernando Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Faria having to interfere. With a little luck, SC Bombardeira's Amadeu Faria got control of the ball when Carlos Macedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernando Branco in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amadeu Faria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Anjos in the 39th minute of play forced SC Barata's goalkeeper Cristiano Jesus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Bernardo Anjos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Paiva in the 45th minute of play forced SC Barata's goalkeeper Cristiano Jesus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Fernando Branco made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to SC Barata getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Eduardo Matias hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Fernando Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rui Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristiano Jesus was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Amadeu Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Esteves in the 91st minute of play. Fernando Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Bombardeira's Rui Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Bombardeira's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
