Rui Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Inácio Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heitor Barbosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Inácio Simões having to make a save. In the 33rd minute, Sérgio Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vicente Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Barreosa getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Adelino Faro hit a great ball. In the 48th minute of the match Joel Reis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but António Faro skillfully saved the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a little luck, SC Castanhal's Inácio Simões got control of the ball when Sérgio Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sérgio Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Simões having to interfere. Inácio Simões was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Heitor Barbosa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 58 minute of play. Emílio Bessa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without António Faro having to make a save. If Vicente Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heitor Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Emílio Bessa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Gabriel Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Castanhal's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Faro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Emílio Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Guerreiro in the 89th minute of play forced Barreosa's goalkeeper António Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emílio Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Faro having to interfere. Vicente Guerreiro struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. António Faro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Castanhal. Vicente Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barreosa's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
