Rafael Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Basílio Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Pereira took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio Costa. Basílio Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Rafael Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 minutes, João Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Sorval and the SC Samorim players grew even worse after the yellow card. João Aguiar hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Sérgio Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Vaz having to interfere. Pedro Vaz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 23rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. SC Samorim's Pedro Vaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save SC Samorim from getting a goal against them. In the 39th minute, Sérgio Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Sousa to make the kick off. Sérgio Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Pedro Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, SC Samorim's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Fernandes came free, but Pedro Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Vítor Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Rafael Pereira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Basílio Costa made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardo Sousa in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vítor Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Sousa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to SC Sorval getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Simão Jesus hit a great ball. Rafael Pereiras short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Basílio Costa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 85 played minutes SC Sorval got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Freitas. 92 minutes into the game, SC Sorval's Sérgio Fernandes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Vaz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Sorval fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Samorim had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
