Joel Assunção took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Assunção was a little too slow when Vicente Vale got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. 26 minutes into the match, Carrapateira FC's goalkeeper Joel Assunção had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manuel Leite. Eusébio Nascimento struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Luís Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carrapateira FC. If Eusébio Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Pedro Viegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Carneiro in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Gaspar saved Fundada from getting behind. Vicente Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Joel Assunção tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusébio Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vicente Vale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fundada's Luís Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Fundada from getting a goal against them. Joel Assunção made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Leite in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Fundada booed when Carrapateira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vicente Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the game, José Sá was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fundada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carrapateira FC the free kick. After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fundada! When the match had been going on for 76 minutes, Carrapateira FC's Abel Rodrigues got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Luís Gaspar. Carrapateira FC's Joel Assunção played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Leite in the 82nd minute of play. Alexandre Mota hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Pedro Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carrapateira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Leite couldn't finish the play.
