Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Xavier Neves made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Humberto Araújo sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Vilar booed when Melides FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Ferro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 played minutes Vilar got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Faro. Melides FC's Armando Mota couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vilar. In the 15th minute, Armando Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Moura in the 16th minute of play forced Melides FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Alfredo Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Melides FC's zone, Bruno Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Ferreira came out of the goal and Bruno Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the match, Manuel Torres dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Xavier Neves, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Vilar's zone, Manuel Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xavier Neves came out of the goal and Manuel Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacinto Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute Jacinto Setúbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melides FC's Alfredo Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Setúbal in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Humberto Araújo notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Vilar's Xavier Neves. Xavier Neves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Humberto Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Xavier Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Torres made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Manuel Torres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xavier Neves was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 60th minute, Melides FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bruno Silva fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Manuel Oliveira's late challenge caught a Vilar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Melides FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. Jacinto Setúbal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfredo Ferreira came out and tried to block the shot, but Jacinto Setúbal slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Vilar getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Nuno Faro hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the match, Vilar's Bruno Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manuel Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Setúbal in the 71st minute of play forced Melides FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Melides FC's zone, Jacinto Setúbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Ferreira came out of the goal and Jacinto Setúbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xavier Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melides FC's Manuel Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Humberto Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melides FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
