In the 7th minute, Basílio Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Esquio's Joaquim Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Sá in the 11th minute of play. After 11 minutes of play, Farelo FC's Luís Sá made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquim Rodrigues was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joaquim Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Guarda, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Sá in the 21st minute of play forced SC Esquio's goalkeeper Joaquim Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Daniel Baptista managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when SC Esquio's Cláudio Leal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute, Cláudio Leal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Esquio fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Viriato Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Basílio Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Farelo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joaquim Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafael Tavares took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquim Rodrigues. Joaquim Rodrigues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Sá's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Daniel Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Guarda in the 62nd minute of the match. After 68 minutes, Fábio Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Esquio and the Farelo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of SC Esquio:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Farelo FC:s goal. The referee gave Farelo FC a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Humberto Maia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Esquio's Joaquim Rodrigues. 1-3. Viriato Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd match minute, Farelo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Lopes to maneuver through the defense. When Luís Sá fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farelo FC's protests and gave Luís Sá a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Farelo FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Luís Sá hit a great ball. In the 95th minute Viriato Guarda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Farelo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Cruz came free, but Daniel Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 98th minute Luís Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luís Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 99th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Esquio's protests and gave Luís Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Farelo FC booed when SC Esquio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basílio Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 101st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Rodrigues having to interfere. The Farelo FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
