But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Fernandes couldn't finish the play. Bento Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the game, Luís Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Farelo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galvana FC the free kick. A collision led to Farelo FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Luís Sá showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Galvana FC's Manuel Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Sá in the 25th minute of play. Joaquim Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Daniel Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Fernandes in the 37th minute of play forced Farelo FC's goalkeeper Daniel Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th match minute, Farelo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Lopes to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Galvana FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Júlio Paiva hit a great ball. If Luís Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Luís Sá notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Galvana FC's Manuel Reis. Manuel Reis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Sá to make the kick off. After having played for 55 minutes, Basílio Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Farelo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Martins in the 57th minute of play forced Galvana FC's goalkeeper Manuel Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Farelo FC's Daniel Baptista got control of the ball when Joaquim Fernandes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joaquim Fernandes struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Daniel Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galvana FC. Basílio Martins took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel Reis. Manuel Reis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 85th minute, Humberto Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Baptista was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rui Sousa. Luís Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Reis having to interfere. Farelo FC had won after a very even match.
