The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Fernando Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Serradas. Carlos Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Porto in the 10th minute of play. Adelino Assis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Neto having to interfere. Jaime Oliveira charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Oliveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Adelino Assis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Afonso Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Godel FC booed when SC Serradas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Assunção didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 36 played minutes Godel FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Dias. After 39 played minutes SC Serradas got a freekick which was hit by José Cruz. In the 40th minute Emílio Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Godel FC's goalkeeper Carlos Veiga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amílcar Esteves. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Porto in the 43rd minute of play forced Godel FC's goalkeeper Carlos Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonso Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Assis in the 45th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Adelino Assis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Godel FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Assis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

51 minutes into the match, Godel FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amílcar Esteves came free, but Carlos Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amílcar Esteves in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. SC Serradas's Afonso Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Torres in the 57th minute of play. When Godel FC's Adelino Assis in 57 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Afonso Neto guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. If Alexandre Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute Amílcar Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonso Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Torres in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Filipe Assunção had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Veiga. Godel FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filipe Assunção was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Carlos Veiga came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by SC Serradas's Fernando Porto. But to his dismay, Fernando Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Emílio Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
