Torroes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Gomes's late challenge caught a Torroes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, SC Vinhais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Gomes to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Sebastião Matias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Vinhais fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 20th minute, Torroes FC's Rui Veiga seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rui Veiga the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Torroes FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rui Veiga had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Torroes FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Vinhais:s goal. Albertino Setúbal walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The supporters of SC Vinhais booed when Torroes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Sebastião Matias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jorge Vale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 33rd minute, Eusébio Cardoso made a precise shot to the right of David Guerreiro. SC Vinhais's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 40th minute of the match Albertino Setúbal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Vale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Torroes FC's Eusébio Cardoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Guerreiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in SC Vinhais's zone, Eusébio Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Guerreiro came out of the goal and Eusébio Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusébio Cardoso made a kick off. Jorge Vale made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Sebastião Matias sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Jorge Vale managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when SC Vinhais's Sebastião Matias fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jorge Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Matias, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. A collision led to Torroes FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Adelino Nogueira hit a great ball. Catarino Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Catarino Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. If Sebastião Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Torroes FC's goalkeeper Jorge Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastião Matias. Torroes FC's Jorge Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Torroes FC from getting a goal against them. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
